Robert Nesta Marley, better known as Bob Marley is identified as one of the pioneers of reggae. He is a singer, musician, and songwriter who has distinctive songwriting and vocal style. He rose to fame after releasing the album The Wailing Wailers in 1965 and formed the group Bob Marley and the Wailers. It contained the single One Love/People Get Ready which eventually became so popular globally.
During the peak of his career, Bob Marley was diagnosed with malignant melanoma located under her toenail. His doctor advised him to undergo an operation that will remove his infected toe. However, Marley rejected this medical advice because it will hinder his performing career and his religious beliefs. Marley was able to have his last concert at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before his health deteriorated and cancer spread throughout his body. He passed away at the age of 36, on May 11, 1981.
