Kevin Feige: The Marvel Mastermind
Kevin Feige is the man behind some of the biggest superhero movies of all time. He’s a film producer, a studio executive, and a true Marvel superhero himself. Born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in New Jersey, Kevin’s got a family history in the entertainment industry. His grandpa was a TV producer in the 1950s, and Kevin followed in his footsteps by studying at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. It took him six tries to get in, but he finally made it. Talk about perseverance!
Kevin’s idols are Ron Howard, George Lucas, and Robert Zemeckis, all of whom graduated from the same school. He started his career as an assistant to an executive producer for the films You’ve Got Mail and Volcano. But it wasn’t until he was hired as an associate producer for the first X-Men film that he really got his big break. His knowledge of the Marvel Universe was impressive, and he quickly rose through the ranks at Marvel Studios. Today, he’s the Chief Creative Officer for Marvel Television, Marvel Comics, and Marvel Animation. He’s also a member of the Producers Guild of America.
Kevin’s produced some of the biggest superhero movies of all time, including Black Panther and Avengers: Endgame. In fact, Black Panther was the first-ever superhero film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. And Avengers: Endgame is the highest-grossing film of all time among the current lineup of Marvel movies. Not too shabby, Kevin! Keep up the good work.
