Zooey Deschanel comes from a family of showbiz personalities. Her mom is an American actress who starred in the cult classic Twin Peaks back in 1990, while her dad is Caleb Deschanel, an Academy Award-nominated cinematographer and television director. Talk about a talented family!

At just 17 years old, Zooey landed her big break in the television sitcom Veronica’s Closet. The following year, she snagged her first film role in Mumford. From there, she went on to play the lovable Jessica Day on the Fox television sitcom New Girl from 2011 to 2018. Her performance earned her an Emmy Award and three Golden Globe Award nominations. Not too shabby!

Zooey’s filmography is impressive, to say the least. She’s starred in 500 Days of Summer, Yes Man, The Happening, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Bridge to Terabithia, Trolls, and more. With those big blue eyes and long dark hair with bangs, it’s no wonder she’s a Hollywood darling.

But Zooey’s talents don’t stop there. She’s also a musician who loves to play the piano and the baritone ukulele. In fact, she’s released several albums and formed a group called She and Him with M. Ward. And did you know she has dairy, eggs, soy, and gluten allergies? Talk about a high-maintenance diet!
